Teachers in engineering and technical education must be confident in their ability to use effective teaching methods in addition to having strong technical competencies. Research on the connection between self-efficacy and engineering and technical education teaching practices is thoroughly reviewed in this paper. Relevant empirical research was found, screened, and synthesized using the PRISMA framework in order to investigate the main facets of self-efficacy, the ways in which self-efficacy influences teaching practice, and the contextual elements that foster its growth. The results show that instructional planning, practical teaching, classroom and laboratory management, technological integration, instructional innovation, and professional involvement are all positively correlated with self-efficacy. In learning contexts with a lot of technology, technological self-efficacy has become especially crucial. Additionally, the review identifies outcome anticipation, subject-matter self-efficacy, instructional self-efficacy, and personal teaching efficacy as significant factors supporting teaching performance. Teachers' self-efficacy is also influenced by mastery experiences, professional growth, institutional support, teamwork, and exposure to professional practice. These results emphasize how crucial it is for professional development programs for educators in engineering and technical education to incorporate pedagogical, technical, and technological self-efficacy development.
