Among Indonesian cosmetology education students, this study investigated whether resilience mediates the association between career adaptability and job readiness. The study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design and used partial least squares structural equation modelling to analyze the data. The results demonstrated that resilience and work preparedness were positively correlated with career adaptability, and that work readiness was positively correlated with resilience. Complementary partial mediation was shown by the strong indirect pathway through resilience. These results imply that in competency-based cosmetology education, resilience serves as a crucial mediating mechanism between career adaptability and work preparedness. The study is in favour of including resilience-building, career development, feedback, and reflection into hands-on technical education.
