Abstract

Every one talks of norms and standards and quality and excellence in Engineering Education but few had occasion to co-relate and distinguish between these. Quality improvement measure - PADS, ISO 9000, Curriculum Development, I.1.L, Quality Circles, TQM - have been discussed and deliberated a number of times at seminars, work-shops and conferences and recommendations made for adopting these measures; but how many institutions have adopted and are implementing these measures and with what results ? What difficulties they are facing ? Information on induction / implementation of Quality Measures in Engineering Education needs to be collected, analysed and monitored continuously.
