Abstract

Quality has become the touchstone in higher education all over the world. Indian higher education system, grown enormously in 'last five decades, is facing unprecedented problems. There is a question of credibility mid there are doubts about the quality. The need of the hour is to go for assessment and accreditation of institutions of higher education. How should one go about this? What do we mean by quality in higher education? Can one think of a process that would be suitable for India? This presentation addresses such difficult but important questions.
