Abstract

Ecological intelligence is important to prepare technical students to comprehend the relationship between human activities and environmental sustainability. This study assessed the psychometric soundness of an ecological intelligence test based on ecopedagogy through the Rasch measurement model using Winsteps. It consisted of 32 items that measured ecological knowledge, ecological awareness, ecological sensitivity, and ecological behavior. Item fit, reliability, separation, item difficulty, person-item targeting, and dimensionality were analyzed in 113 technical students. Overall, results indicated acceptable quality of measurement, although some items and aspects of the instrument require further refinement. The findings support the use of Rasch analysis in improving ecological intelligence assessment in technical education and call for further validation using larger samples of technical students.
